Roo is an eight-week-old Labrador mix who got her name from a kangaroo because of the way she tends to hop around using her back legs. When she walks, Roo leans on her elbows and sticks her bottom up in the air.

While her odd little way of getting around sometimes is a little troublesome, the reason is because Roo was actually born with six legs – two extra ones in the front.

Roo was first spotted online being advertised by a breeder. Lauren Salmon’s 15-year-old son, Luke, was the one to notice the ad. The family immediately knew they had to have her. As she was born with a defect, they knew that it was likely the breeder would eventually have her euthanized if Roo couldn’t find a home.

When Luke and Lauren went to pick up Roo, the little pup came hopping out of her pen and jumped up on her back legs. Roo was so happy to see them. Lauren and Luke could tell right away that she was full of life despite her little defect.

β€œShe’s full of puppy energy, so we’d describe her as placid but playful. There are not many dogs like Roo out there,” LaurenΒ told Fox News. β€œI think the breeders kill them off because they’re not worth anything, but to us she’s priceless.”

Ever since Roo arrived home, she and Luke have been inseparable. And Luke knows something about being the one left out. The teen boy suffers from psoriasis, a skin condition that leaves him covered in red patches. Because of his psoriasis, Luke has been bullied in school.

But now he has a best friend, as does Roo.

Besides a home with loving humans, Roo has also gained a new doggie sibling, as well as two cats and two rabbits!

Meanwhile, Lauren is currently working with Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick to see what can be done to help improve Roo’s mobility. While her two extra legs hinder Roo from walking like a normal dog, they don’t cause her any pain.

At 13 years old, Pax was hardly expecting to become a parent, but life can be unpredictable.

The senior labrador was living happily with his loving family on their farm and enjoying his golden years.

But one day, Pax and his family heard a sad cry coming from somewhere on the farm, and with that, everything changed.

Pax’s pet-mom, Morgan, heard the cry of a small kitten, and with the help of one of her cats, she was able to find it.

She brought the cat outside with her and the clever kitty was able to lead her to the orphaned kitten.

The little kitten had been left all alone in a tree stump and was crying out for its mother.

Hoping that the momma cat would return, Morgan waited a couple of hours before bringing the kitten in.

But after some time, it was clear that the mother was not returning, and Morgan knew that she had to save the heartbroken little orphan.

Morgan brought the kitten into her house and made it warm and comfortable in her bed.

The little kitten was so young that she needed to be bottle-fed, and her fur and skin were infested with fleas.

The family named the kitten Polly, and slowly nursed her back to health.

They bottle-fed her, got rid of her fleas, and gave her as much love as possible.

One family member, in particular, took an extra serious interest in the wellbeing of the little kitten; Pax.

β€œPax loved her from day one,” Morgan toldΒ Love Meow.

Pax felt a deep affection for Polly and an intense need to keep her safe and sound.

And Polly seemed to intuitively know that Pax would protect her; after her very first bath, the little cat snuggled up next to Pax and promptly fell asleep.

The two quickly grew very close and Pax would even help out with the feedings; once Polly had been fed Pax would lick her clean and cuddle her.

As Polly grew older, bigger and stronger, the pair could do more things together.

Polly would follow Pax around the house, and Pax would share his toys with his little adopted daughter.

Like a good father, Pax taught her everything he knew, which has resulted in Polly knowing how to β€œbark”.

Now, Polly is all grown up, and though she’s not a needy little kitten anymore, she and Pax are still as tight as ever.

They love playing together, cuddling up together and Polly even acts more like a dog than a cat.

Polly and Pax are completely inseparable, and they even have a sharedΒ InstagramΒ in which they document their beautiful bond.

Pax and Polly may be of different species, but it’s clear that they are, always will be, and were always meant to be, family.

Their love for each other is pure and deep, and they are both incredibly lucky to have found each other.
