At first glance, it seems like this dog’s days are numbered as a jaguar appears to go in for the kill. However, things aren’t always what they seem. In fact, this unlikely duo are actually best friends! When a young jaguar named Jag arrived at Aquaba Lodge in South Africa, he was in need of companionship. Facility owner Lea had just the right companion for the job: Bullet, the Jack Russell.
Every night, Jag needed comfort, and Lea couldn’t always provide it. So, she decided to let Bullet keep him company. From the very first night, these two hit it off, becoming inseparable. They eat, sleep, and play together, spending every moment side by side. Their bond is so strong that even when Jag needed to move to his own enclosure, their separation was a disaster. Jag cried for 24 hours, and Bullet wouldn’t leave the gate.
It’s clear that this dynamic duo is destined to stay together. Interestingly, Bullet, the dog, is the dominant one in their relationship. Although Jag has the power, he knows when to stop if Bullet growls or barks. Their bond is a beautiful example of friendship across species.
