BTS’s “Butter” is the Most Watched K-Pop Music Video by a Male Artist in May 2021
Snagging the number one spot as the most watched K-Pop music video by a male artist is none other than BTS’s “Butter”!
According to K-Pop Radar, BTS’s second song in full English, “Butter,” gained an impressive 271,198,890 views in the month of May after its release on May 21 KST. Not only that but “Butter” had broken the record for the most views on a Youtube video upon its premiere with more than 3.9 million concurrent viewers, breaking their previous record of 3.1 million set by their first English song “Dynamite.”
In addition, “Butter” became the most viewed video within just 24 hours of its release, having more than 108,200,000 views. Just six days after the song’s release, “Butter” had already accumulated more than 230 million views on Youtube and set numerous new Guinness World Records.

As of this writing, “Butter” currently has 276,719,514 views and 16 million likes on Youtube. It is predicted that the music video would hit 300 million views by June 2, with “Butter” being watched by 6,246 people every minute.
NCT DREAM’s “Hot Sauce” is the Second Most Watched K-Pop Music Video by a Male Artist in May 2021
Coming in at second place as the most watched K-Pop music video is SM Entertainment’s boy group, NCT DREAM, with their new song “Hot Sauce” that was released on May 10 KST.
According to K-Pop Radar, the title track of NCT DREAM’s first full-length album of the same name, “Hot Sauce,” had gained a total of 91,321,992 views on its music video on Youtube. Just 24 hours after its premiere, “Hot Sauce” had already surpassed 35 million views, making NCT DREAM the SM Entertainment artist with the highest view count within 24 hours.
In addition, with the release of their album, NCT DREAM became the label’s first-ever artist to achieve a cumulative album sales of more than one million in their first week on Hanteo, making them a million-seller, and the third group in overall, following BTS and SEVENTEEN.
As of this writing, NCT DREAM’s “Hot Sauce” music video has 91,971,889 views and 2.7 million likes.
