Gentle Rescue Dog Gives Orphaned Kittens Love Of A Mother

Published on June 16, 2021

Meet Roxi, a rescued dog who now lives at YP Puppy Rescue in Moonta, South Australia. This is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to rescuing from several regional pounds, rearing puppies, loving the old dogs and everything in between, assisting our community.

Roxi was found running down the street, probably looking for food. When she came to YP Puppy Rescue, people couldn’t image how difficult her life was. She was skinny and was cancer, so she had 3 hours of surgery to gain her life. Thankfully, the surgery was successful.

Although everything happened to her, she still wagged her tail when she met everyone. Once she recovered and put on weight, her sweet personalities started to come out. She is a good and gentle girl. She is happy to live in a happy home that she deserves. Roxi was 26 kilos when she came in, but she’s now 40 kilos.

Not only does the organization rescue dogs and puppies, they also help kittens and cats. Pete is one of their rescued cats. When Roxi came in, Pete came to make friends with the big dog. The two animals quickly bonded and formed a special friendship.

When YP Puppy Rescue brought some orphaned kittens in, they were amazed to see what happened. The kittens fell in love with Roxi, and the big dog also loved them so much. At that moment, she decided to become their mom and gave them all love and care they needed.

She cleans them and mothers them. The kittens love to cuddle with her, and she just lays there still and lets them do what they want. She cares for them as if they were her own babies. It’s a whole different species, but Roxi doesn’t care. For her, they are her babies and there is no different here.

Many people wonder how this great, huge dog would fall in love with tiny kittens. We don’t know the answer, but we justknow that the kittens are just drawn to her and consider her their beloved mom. Roxi is a great girl, so we just want her to be happy forever.

Sadly, Roxi passed away last month due to cancer. Roxis’ passing was peaceful, calm and with a couple of deep breaths, our gorgeous girl went onto her next journey. Rest in peace, Roxi! You will always stay in our hearts.
